Soon the heat of the day would be too much.
Waves dancing in the distance,
A distorted vision of a far off horizon.

We pass signs of what once was
Rusted cars
Cracked roads
Buildings and houses reclaimed in a new greening of the world.

There are more animals now,
the earth seems to prefer it this way.

Those that remain have made an uneasy peace with her.
She provides, but does not forget.
She nurtures, but is quick to anger.

There are those that found the old ways,
worshiping and communing with nature in ways man hasn't done for millennia.
